The Shishigashira is a unique Japanese Maple, characterized by its compact, semi-glossy, heavily curled, dark green leaves. The deep green hue remains vibrant until Fall, when the tree undergoes a stunning transformation. As other Maple trees shed their leaves, the Shishigashira bursts into a vibrant display of red and purple, accented with golden patterns. This spectacular color display earns the tree its name, Shishigashira, which translates to 'Lion's Mane'.

At 74 years old and standing 18" x 22" x 30" tall, this bonsai tree is a testament to the beauty of nature and the art of bonsai. It is an outdoor deciduous bonsai tree, meticulously grown and trained.

The tree is potted in a 17" brown oval mica container. A suitable humidity/drip tray is recommended and can be added at an additional cost. Depending on the season, the tree may be shipped with mature, turning, and transitioning foliage in late summer (August), or with no foliage during autumn and winter. Rest assured, the tree will emerge from dormancy and re-grow its foliage in early Spring.
