Redwood Bonsai Tree - Three Tree Forest Group Medium (metasequoia glyptostroboides)

The Dawn Redwood, a native of Manchuria China, is a truly remarkable species. Once believed to be extinct, it was re-discovered in the 1940s and has since become a popular ornamental tree. This true Redwood is a living fossil, a solitary species from a time when vast forests of these trees covered the earth. The foliage of the Dawn Redwood is more delicate than that of native Redwoods and, unlike them, it is deciduous. In the fall, the light green sprays turn yellow, then bronze, before falling off - a characteristic shared only with the Larches.

This offering is a group of three trees, each between 5-8 years old and standing 15-16" tall. These outdoor deciduous bonsai trees have been grown and trained with care.

A suitable humidity/drip tray is recommended for optimal growth and can be added at a small additional cost.

Please note that these trees may be shipped with mature, transitioning foliage in late summer (August) as the tree prepares for dormancy. They may also be shipped with no foliage during autumn and winter. Rest assured, the tree will emerge from dormancy and re-grow foliage in early Spring.
