Small Flowering Jaboticaba Bonsai Tree (Eugenia Cauliflora)
The Jaboticaba, a native of southern Brazil, is a fascinating member of the Myrtle family and a relative of the Guava. Its unique botanical feature, 'Cauliflora', signifies its ability to flower and bear fruit directly on the trunk and mature branches.
During its blooming period, the tree is adorned with clusters of small white flowers that cover the trunk and branches. These flowers eventually transform into dark berries, a delicacy often found in gourmet stores. The kernels of these fruits can be cultivated into bonsai, creating beautiful indoor trees.
The tree's bark peels off in curls as the trunk and branches expand, adding to its charm. This bonsai tree, which is 10 years old and stands 12-13" tall, is easy to care for indoors.
A suitable humidity/drip tray is recommended for optimal growth, available at a small additional cost.
