River Birch Bonsai Tree (Betula Nigra)
The River Birch Bonsai Tree, native to the Eastern United States, is a lively deciduous tree. It is recognized for its unique flowers that bloom in drooping, brownish male catkins and smaller upright, greenish female catkins. Its bark, a beautiful blend of salmon-pink to reddish brown, continually exfoliates to reveal patches of peach, gray, purple, and orange. This ornamental feature adds a splash of color to any setting.
At 8 years old and standing 14"-16" tall, this outdoor deciduous bonsai tree has been grown and trained with care. A suitable humidity/drip tray is recommended and can be added at a small additional cost.
During late summer (August), the tree may be shipped with mature, turning, and transitioning foliage. This is a normal, annual process as the tree prepares for dormancy. It may also be shipped with no foliage during autumn and winter. However, the tree will emerge from dormancy and re-grow foliage in early Spring.
