Flowering Podocarpus Bonsai Tree (Podocarpus Macrophyllus)
The Flowering Podocarpus Bonsai Tree, also known as Buddhist Pine or Chinese Yew, is a dense evergreen beauty with pointed, leathery, dark green leaves. Its stiff, symmetrical branches host male flowers in cones and female flowers composed of cylindrical thickened scales. The fruits of this tree are not only edible but also pendiculate, fleshy, and brightly colored. The new foliage starts as a light green color that darkens with age. This tree grows very well, albeit slowly, indoors.
At 24 years old and measuring 16" x 22" x 20" tall, this bonsai tree has been carefully grown and trained. It's potted in a 13" brown oval mica container. A suitable humidity/drip tray is recommended and can be added at a small additional cost.
Adding to its charm is a miniature ceramic figurine, depicting a man in a blue robe and a woman in a red robe relaxing on a bench, included with the tree.
