Dawn Redwood 9 Tree Forest Group (Metasequoia Glyptostrobides)

Dawn Redwood 9 Tree Forest Group (Metasequoia Glyptostrobides)

The Dawn Redwood, a native of Manchuria China, is a truly unique and exciting redwood species. Once believed to be extinct, it was rediscovered in the 1940s and has since become increasingly popular as an ornamental tree. This living fossil stands as a solitary testament to the vast forests that once covered the earth.

Unlike other redwoods, the Dawn Redwood is deciduous. Its delicate, lacey foliage transforms from light green to yellow and bronze in the fall before falling off, a characteristic shared only with the Larches. This outdoor bonsai tree is best kept outdoors.

This offering is a 9 tree forest group, with each tree aged between 7-9 years. The approximate dimensions are 21" x 21" x 24" tall. A suitable humidity/drip tray is recommended and can be added at a small additional cost.

Please note that the tree may be shipped with mature, turning, and transitioning foliage in late summer (August) as it prepares for dormancy. It may also be shipped with no foliage during autumn and winter. Rest assured, the tree will emerge from dormancy and re-grow foliage in early Spring.
